NOTE: A Candidate has to qualify at each stage of prescribed selection process for final empanelment.

I. Selection Process for Scientific Assistant/C (Safety Supervisor) Post

  1. The CBT (Computer based test) will be of two hours duration having Two Parts i.e. Part-I consisting of 60 questions from English, General Knowledge and quantitative aptitude and Part-II will be of 60 questions from respective technical disciplines.
  2. 03 (Three) marks to be awarded for each correct answer.
  3. No negative marking in the CBT.
  4. Qualifying Standards: The cut of marks to pass the CBT shall be for General category (UR) is 45% and SC / ST / OBC is 35%. However all passed candidates will not be called for Interview. Calling for Interview depend upon the number of candidates qualifying in CBT examination but should not exceed 5 times the number of vacancies notified.
  5. Exact date, time and venue of the interview will be made available in the website. Email / SMS will also be sent to shortlisted candidates.
  6. Before appearing for the interview, the candidates will be required to verification of all the original mark sheets / certificates, caste certificates etc.
  7. Final select list will be made after giving weightage of 50% marks obtained in the CBT (Stage-2) and 50% on the basis of performance in the personal interview.
  8. In the event of a tie, the following criteria shall be adopted in sequence for deciding position in Merit List:
    1. Candidates who scored higher marks in CBT to be placed higher on the Merit List.
    2. Candidates who scored higher marks in Technical Subjects (Part-II) to be placed higher on the Merit List.
    3. Candidates who scored higher in Part-1 to be placed higher on the Merit List.
    4. Finally, candidates whose Date of Birth is earlier to be placed higher on the Merit List.
  9. A wait list containing equal number of candidates shall be prepared and the validity is for one year only after notifying select list.
  10. Decision of the Selection Committee will be final.

II. Selection process for Leading Fireman/A and Driver-cum-Pump Operator-cum-Fireman/A Posts

Physical Standard Test, Physical Assessment Test and Driving Test shall be conducted first. Those who clear these tests may be allowed to appear for the Stage 1 (Preliminary Test) and Stage 2 (Advanced Test).

Note:

  1. Qualifying in test at Sl.No. 1 is compulsory, failing which the candidates is unfit for recruitment and further tests need not be carry out.
  2. The qualifying percentage marks required for the tests from Sr.No.2 to Sr.No.7 (taking equal weightage) put together shall be 90% and above on an average.
B) Driving Test (Qualifying only)

C) Written Examination / Computer Based Test
The written examination / Computer Based Test will be in two stages.
Stage-1- Preliminary Test (1 Hour Duration)
Stage-2- Advanced Test (2 Hours Duration)

Stage-1 - Preliminary Test: It will be a screening examination to be held to shortlist candidates. The format of the screening examination shall be common for all posts and will be in following format:
  1. Examination will consist 50 Multiple Choice Questions (Choice of four answers) of 01 (one) hour duration in the following proportion:
    1 Mathematics - 20 Questions
    2 Science - 20 Questions
    3 General Awareness - 10 Questions
  2. 03 (Three) marks to be awarded for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark to be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  3. Tests may be conducted in single/multiple sessions depending upon logistics requirements.
  4. Qualifying Standards : The qualifying standards shall be as follows:
    General Category (UR) – 40% marks;
    SC/OBC – 30% marks .
    Accordingly, the General Candidates < 40% marks and the candidates belonging to SC/OBC with < 30% marks will be screened out for Stage-2.
Stage-2 – Advanced Test.
  1. All candidates screened in Stage-1 to undertake an advanced test in their respective trade / qualification.
  2. The Test will be of 02 (two) hours duration.
  3. The level of questions will be related to their qualifying academic / professional / technical qualification.
  4. The Test will comprise 50 Multiple choice questions (Choice of four answers) with 03 (Three) marks to be awarded for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark to be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  5. Qualifying Standards:The qualifying standards shall be as follows:
    General Category (UR) – 30% marks
    SC/OBC – 20% marks
    Accordingly, the General Candidates < 30% marks and the candidates belonging to SC/OBC with < 20 % marks will be screened out.

A merit list of candidates will be prepared after Stage-2 based upon scores obtained in Stage-2 only.
In the event of a tie, following criteria shall be adopted in sequence for deciding position in merit list:
  1. Candidates with lower negative marks in Stage-2 to be placed higher on the merit list.
  2. Candidates with higher marks in Stage-1 to be placed higher on the merit list.
  3. Candidate with lower negative marks in Stage-1 to be placed higher on the merit list.
  4. Candidates with higher positive marks in mathematics in Stage-1 is placed higher.
  5. Candidates with higher positive marks in Science in Stage-1 is placed higher.

Candidates to undertake the Preliminary and Advance Test on the same day. Preliminary Test may be carried out in the morning session and the advance test for candidates screened in for Stage-2 to be carried out in the afternoon/evening session. Quick assessment, which will be required can be ensured by the use of OMR Sheets.

III. Selection process for Assistant Grade-1 (HR) / Assistant Grade-1 (F&A) / Steno Grade-1 Posts

Examination (Computer Based Test)

The Examination (Computer Based Test) will be in two stages:
Stage-1- Preliminary Test (1 Hour Duration)
Stage-2- Advanced Test (2 Hours Duration)

Stage-1 – Preliminary Test
  1. It will be a screening examination to be held to shortlist candidates. The format of the screening examination shall be common for all the non-technical cadres. In keeping with the minimum educational qualification of graduation as per the Recruitment Norms, the questions will be of Graduation level.
  2. Examination will comprise 50 multiple choice questions (Choice of four answers) of 01 (one) hour duration in the following proportion:
    a General Knowledge & Current Affairs - 25 Questions
    b Computer Knowledge - 15 Questions
    c. English - 10 Questions
  3. The Test will be of 01 (one) hour duration for a maximum 150 marks.
  4. 03 (Three) marks to be awarded for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark to be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  5. Tests may be conducted in single/multiple sessions depending upon logistics requirements
  6. Qualifying Standards: The qualifying standards shall be as follows:
    General Category (UR) – 40% marks;
    SC/OBC/PwBD – 30% marks.
    Accordingly, the General Candidates < 40% marks and the candidates belonging to SC/OBC/PwBD with < 30% marks will be screened out for Stage-2.
Stage-2- Advanced Test
  1. All candidates screened in Stage-1 to undertake an advanced test.
  2. The Test will be of 02 (two) hours duration for a maximum of 150 marks.
  3. The test will comprise 50 Multiple choice questions (Choice of four answers) from the following syllabus:
    Quantitative Aptitude - 25 Questions
    Critical Reasoning – 25 Questions
  4. (b) 03 (Three) marks to be awarded for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark to be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  5. Qualifying Standards: The qualifying standards shall be as follows:
    General Category (UR) – 30% marks
    SC/OBC/PwBD – 20% marks.
    Accordingly, the General Candidates < 30% marks and the candidates belonging to SC/OBC/PwBD with < 20% marks will be screened out for Stage-3.

A merit list of candidates will be prepared after Stage-2 based upon scores obtained in Stage-2 only.
In the event of a tie, following criteria shall be adopted in sequence for deciding position in merit list:

Candidates to undertake the Preliminary and Advance Test on the same day. Preliminary Test may be carried out in the morning session and the advance test for candidates screened in for Stage-2 to be carried out in the afternoon/evening session.

Stage 3 : Skill Test
  1. Based upon the merit list prepared after Stage-2, Candidates will be shortlisted for Skill Test.
  2. The number of candidates shortlisted for Skill Test would depend upon the number of candidates qualifying for Stage-2 but shall not exceed 5 times the number of vacancies for each post.
  3. Skill test for Assistant Grade-1
    1. Typewriting Test on Personal Computer (PC); and
    2. Computer Proficiency Test
  4. Skill test for Steno Grade-1
    1. Stenography Test
    2. Typewriting Test on Personal Computer (PC);and
    3. Computer Proficiency Test
    The Skill tests will be of qualifying nature only on GO/No Go basis.
  5. Candidates clearing the Skill Test to be shortlisted and empanelled in order of merit based on marks secured in Stage-2.
