SELECTION PROCESS

1. Driver-cum-Pump Operator-cum-Fireman/A (DPOF) Stage-1 Preliminary Test: It will be screening examination to shortlist candidates. The examination will comprise 50 Multiple Choice Questions (Choice of four answers) of 01 (one) hour duration in the following proportion:
(a) Mathematics - 20 Questions
(b) Science - 20 Questions
(c) General Awareness - 10 Questions

03 (Three) marks for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Qualifying standards shall be for General Category (UR) - 40% marks and for SC / ST & OBC – 30% marks. The candidates securing lesser marks than the qualifying standard as above will be screened out for Stage-2.

Stage-2 Advance Test: All the candidates screened in Stage-1 to undertake an advanced test. The syllabus for question paper for Stage 2 test will be based on the qualification. The test will be of 02 (Two) hours duration.

The test will comprise 50 Multiple choice questions (Choice of four answers) with 03 (Three) marks for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The qualifying standards shall be for General Category (UR) - 30% marks, for SC / ST / OBC - 20% marks. A merit list will be prepared for candidates after Stage-2 based upon scores obtained in Stage-2 only. No wait list will be prepared or operated.

In the event of a tie, following criteria shall be adopted in sequence for deciding position in merit list:
  1. Candidates with lower negative marks in stage-2 to be placed higher on the merit list.
  2. Candidates with higher marks in Stage-1 to be placed higher on the merit list.
  3. Candidates with lower negative marks in stage-1 to be placed higher on the merit list.
  4. Candidates with higher positive marks in mathematics in Stage-1 is placed higher.
  5. Candidates with higher positive marks in Science in Stage-1 is placed higher.
Stage-3 - Skill Test (except for post at sl No.2 above) :-
  1. Based upon the merit list prepared after Stage-2, Candidates will be short listed for Skill Test.
  2. The Skill Test will be of qualifying nature only on GO/NO GO basis.
Candidates clearing the SKILL TEST to be short listed and empananelled in order of merit based on marks secured in Stage – 2.

5. Steno Grade - 1 Stage-1 Preliminary Test: It will be screening examination to shortlist candidates. The questions will be of graduation level and the examination will comprise of 50 Multiple Choice Questions (Choice of four answers) of 01 (one) hour duration for a maximum of 150 marks in the following proportion::
(a) General Knowledge & Current Affair - 25 Questions
(b) Computer Knowledge - 15 Questions
(c) English - 10 Questions
03 (Three) marks for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Qualifying standards shall be for General Category (UR) - 40% marks and for SC / ST / OBC – 30% marks. The candidates securing lesser marks than the qualifying standard as above will be screened out for Stage-2.

The syllabus for question paper for Stage 2 test will comprise 50 Multiple choice questions (choice of 4 answers) from the following syllabus:
(a) Quantitative Aptitude - 25 Questions
(b) Critical reasoning - 25 Questions
03 (Three) marks for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The qualifying standards shall be for General Category (UR) - 30% marks, for SC / ST / OBC - 20% marks. A merit list will be prepared for candidates after Stage-2 based upon scores obtained in Stage-2 only. No wait list will be prepared or operated.

  1. Qualifying in test at Sr.No.1 is compulsory, failing which the candidate is unfit for recruitment and further tests need not be carried out.
  2. The qualifying percentage marks required for the tests from Sr.No.2 to Sr.No.7 (taking equal weightage) put together shall be 90% and above on an average.
  3. Applicants shall indicate their physical standard i.e. Height, Weight, Chest size, vision in the appropriate column of the online application form. The applications in which these columns are not filled will be rejected as incomplete application.
  4. Candidate has to qualify the driving test.
